The Bengals are a last place team and they got treated as such this past Sunday by the team with the best record in the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers. I know, I know, we hate them and they hate us. They are a division rival and anything can happen. And just look at how poorly they played against the Cowboys last week! That's what you were thinking, wasn't it? But, this game wasn't even close, as they lost 36-10, putting up little fight, especially in the second half. When Ben Roethlisberger was taken off the COVID list on Saturday, the Bengals' chances grew much smaller, almost disappearing. This is the second of their six losses that have been a blowout, both of which coming against divisional opponents. That needs to change.
Once again, however, the connection of Joe Burrow to fellow rookie Tee Higgins grew even stronger. They connected on seven of nine targets for 115 yards and a touchdown. Burrow himself was only 21-40 for 213 yards with the lone touchdown pass however. He was also sacked four times during the game, albeit against the league's number one defense, yet again showing how important it is to get offensive line help for the future.
Maybe next week we will have better luck as the Bengals head to Washington to take on the 2-7 Football Team, who will be a one point favorite as of now. The game will be at 1pm Sunday. Hopefully Joe Mixon is healthy enough to return to action as well. Gio has played well in his absence, but Mixon brings a little more to the table for the offense. Here's to hopefully celebrating a "W" next Sunday!
Until we do this again next week, Who-Dey!
