So Long Sewell

There's a lot of mixed emotions going on over here right now. On one hand, it's exciting that the Bengals have won back-to-back games for the first time this year and actually look like a professional team. But, on the other hand, they are just playing themselves out of a top three pick in the next draft. With Sunday's win, the Bengals have now fallen to the fifth pick in next year's draft, with the Falcons and the Dolphins, via the Texans, both coming in ahead of them. Think either of them could use an offensive lineman? Let's hope not, otherwise we won't be seeing Sewell in Bengal stripes on Sundays next fall.
This coming Sunday the Bengals will face off against the Baltimore Ravens, who are vying for their playoff seeding. With the way they've been playing, it won't be a shock if it is an entertaining game. And maybe reminiscent of the game a few years ago when the Bengals knocked the Ravens out of a playoff spot. Wouldn't that be something if they pulled that off again? I guess we'll have to wait until Sunday afternoon to find out.
Maybe winning when you're not supposed to, when you're a bottom three worst team in the league, will start to build a winning culture and make Cincinnati a desirable place for the top free agents in the future. Winning and confidence breed one another, and we could certainly use more of that around here. But, if not, I certainly don't want to advocate losing, but it might be best to have a chance at the third pick to take Sewell to beef up the O-line.
If the Bengals were to win this coming Sunday, the Bengals could potentially fall all the way to the tenth pick in the draft. If that happens, Sewell will definitely not be there. I look forward to discussing this next week once we know for certain how things shake out. Until then, as always, Who-Dey!!
