The 2017 first round pick of the Atlanta Falcons was released on Monday. Defensive end Takk McKinley cleared waivers Tuesday and was picked up by the Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday. McKinley had criticized the Atlanta Falcons for not trading him prior to the trade deadline last week after he requested it. The Falcons had also previously declined to pick up his fifth year option for next season, which would be worth $10.3 million, due to his underwhelming performance thus far. In four seasons he only has 17.5 sacks, including only 1 sack this season in 89 snaps through four games.
Let’s hope the change of scenery will do some good for the 25 year old former first-rounder. He had plenty of potential coming out of college and should have plenty left in the tank. Bring on Sunday. Who-Dey!
