The Bengals lose again, and in dramatic fashion once again. It seemed as if Joe Burrow had led the Bengals on a game winning drive Sunday, but us fans were in for yet another heartbreak. Baker Mayfield was able to lead the Browns down the field and threw the game winning touchdown to Peoples-Jones, leaving just 11 seconds on the clock. The Bengals were unable to do anything with those final seconds and lost another one score game to fall to 1-5-1 on the season.
At least there was a bright spot in the game, and that was our two rookies on the offense, Burrow and Higgins. The two of them balled out and gave us all some hope for the future. Burrow finished 25 of 37 for 405 yards, 3 touchdowns and ran one in himself. Tee Higgins caught all five of his targets for 59 yards and a score. He is quickly becoming one of Burrow’s favorite targets. Let’s hope they can continue to build on that going forward.
All in all, the Bengals keep losing, but there are some bright spots giving us hope for the future. Maybe if Mike Brown becomes willing to spend a little money to protect Joe, the Bengals could become contenders once again. What are your thoughts? Excited for what’s to come, or, just the same old Bengals? Thanks, and let’s do it again next week!
