Welcome back to Cincy, and congratulations on the win Andy. As we all know, Dalton was drafted by the Bengals in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft and played 9 seasons here. During his time, he led the Bengals to the playoffs in each of his first five seasons, including two division titles. More importantly, Andy and his wife Jordan, donated much of their time and money while they were here and did so much for the community. And then, Andy comes back to the city that drafted him all those years ago, now the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, and was able to walk out with a 30-7 victory over his former team. Good for him. He deserves it, and believe it or not, as bad of a season as the Cowboys are having, they could still make the playoffs. Maybe a chance for Dalton to get his first playoff win.
Now for the bad stuff. The Bengals. The Bengals are the bad stuff. Veteran running back, Giovanni Bernard, who is starting in place of injured Joe Mixon, fumbled for the first time in 829 carries. That was the longest streak in the NFL and Zac Taylor thought that was cause to be benched for most of the game. Questionable call. The Bengals did fumble on their first three positions though, leading to 17 first half points for the Cowboys. Aside from AJ Green looking a little bit like his former self, posting 6 catches for 62 yards and a touchdown, there really were no bright spots of this game. And things aren't going to get any easier as the Bengals have to face the Steelers, although reeling, still one of the better teams in the league, on Monday Night Football.
No matter what happens the rest of the way this season, looks like Penei Sewell from Oregon is becoming more of a lock as the Bengals' first round pick in next year's draft. So, let's meet again next week to go over the Monday Night game and until then, Who-Dey!
